Albert was born in Surlingham in 1895 to Henry (1866-1942) and Mary nee Smith (1866-1944). Any earlier address is unconfirmed but in 1911 they were neighbours of Richard Osborne the Post Master.

Albert’s sister Maud Elizabeth married Frank Frosdick on 3 April 1916. They lived atHill House Lodge, Ferry Road. Frank served in the Army in France during WW1.
Albert served with the Vth Norfolk Regiment and saw duty in Palestine. He was killed in action on 19 April 1917 aged 22.
