This year The Friends of Surlingham church are again encouraging Norwich and South Norfolk residents and holidaymakers to discover our lovely walk along the river and sample Surlingham’s best home made cakes. There will be a café in the church on the first Sunday afternoon of each of the summer months. Visitors arriving at the church will be given directions for the walk and a quiz, and there will be a café serving cafetieres of coffee, pots of tea and cakes. The walk goes along the river towards the Ferry and back past the Gun Club but keen walkers can extend it by setting off again to Bramerton Common and back. We hope again to raise some much needed money for the church building – the tower badly needs maintenance, but also to make more people aware of our pretty riverside walk. Local people obviously already know about the walk but might want to enjoy coffee and cake in the church and its surroundings.
Visitors can pick up walk directions and the cafe will be open between 2 and 4.30pm on the first Sundays of May, June, July and August.
