The purpose of the scheme is to supplement existing public transport, taking into account timetable, route and destination factors.
The scheme is open to any person who is resident in Surlingham as determined by the edited or full version of the electoral register also taking into account any released amendments.
The scheme will apply to journeys to or from locations in Surlingham by licensed taxi services when there is no bus services available. The subsidy to the cost of the journey will be 50% of the fare paid or £10 whichever is the lesser. The number of journeys eligible for subsidy shall be 4 per household per calendar month.
How to claim
The fare mush be paid initially and a receipt obtained from the driver. A claim form can be obtained from Surlingham Garage or by Clicking here. A claim with receipt attached must be made for each journey (up to 4 journeys on the same form). The completed form must be handed in to Surlingham Garage. A cheque for reimbursement will be sent to the claimant after processing. Claims should be made within 30 days of the journey.
