Church extension – update

Work has started in gathering the materials for the building: bricks, tiles, stone and steel. The heritage bodies who have been consulted as part of the planning process have been quite demanding in their requirements, so that we have to use Welsh slate, Portland stone and English oak.  This puts an added strain on the procurement process, but we are happy in the final analysis, to do the best we can for this precious old building which is key part of our heritage in this village.

A digger will soon be appearing to start the footings. Barriers will be erected around the construction site. Please do not cross these. The connection to the water main could involve excavating the path to the Church if this is necessary, the critical area will be cordoned off. But again please be careful when entering the Churchyard.
