Mabel Sinclair reaches 100

On December 12, Mabel Sinclair, long time resident (Greens Croft) of Surlingham, now residing at Sunnycroft in Taverham, will be 100 years old!

I’m sure some villagers will remember her needlework skills, from wedding dresses and curtain making to alterations and repairs.

Into her eighties she was still seen out and about on her little moped, and when her sight deteriorated, so that she was no longer allowed to ride, she reverted to Shankes’s Pony!

She remains in reasonable health, but struggles with profound deafness and the frailty of her years.
