Having recently moved into the village we would like to say thank you to those Surlinghammers who have already started to make us feel so welcome.  We have found this site and ‘The Ferry’ great starting points!  

We also wondered if anyone could perhaps help us with a feathery problem that has come with our new home?  We appear to have inherited a large number of white doves that are overstraining our gutters (to put it mildly and politely) and whose main pleasure in life seems to be the decoration of our roof, conservatory and windows with natural materials.

We dont wish them any harm as such – but they have gotta go!  At choir on Wednesday I nearly broke down in crazed laughter when we started singing ‘The 12 days of Christmas’- ‘2 Turtle doves…’ if only!  If you would care to rehome some doves or have any practical solutions to offer to dislodge our non-paying guests please get in touch.
