COLDHAM HALL SAILING CLUB – SURLINGHAM – The heart of sailing on the River Yare
“O’er the glad waters of the dark blue sea,
Our thoughts as boundless and our souls as free,
Far as the breeze can bear, the billows foam,
Survey our Empire and behold our home.”
Lord Byron may not have had the River Yare in mind when penning these words but everyone has to start somewhere.
If you do not sail but would like to learn, an ideal opportunity will be available this summer – Coldham Hall Sailing Club will once again be running its “Try Sailing” program on six Thursday evenings 6.30 – 8.00pm starting 8 June. A variety of boats, together with instruction from club members will be provided.
In addition, the club will be hosting an Open Day on Sunday 21st May from 1.30 – 4.30pm. Members of the public are invited to come along to the clubhouse for a short sail, weather permitting. Buoyancy Aids will be provided.
