We warned you…
Here it is:
Two sticks of asparagus are walking down the street. One gets hit by a car and is rushed to the hospital. After performing surgery, the doctor comes out and tells the other asparagus, “I have good news and bad news. The good news is, your friend will live. The bad news is, he’ll be a vegetable for the rest of his life.”
Now on a serious note, we really do have some wonderful fresh local asparagus in for you from Norfolk and only £3.75 for a 250g bunch.
If you are about this weekend do pop on by. It is a wonderful spot for a picnic, with our new picnic tables and freshly cut grass. Where else can you go to a real working farm and soak it all in (the atmosphere, not the mud). Whether it be for a shop for your dinner of our veg, beef, lamb, pork, chicken, potatoes, kitchen essentials and more or if you simply want to use us as a stop off point to rest your feet with a fresh cup of coffee or a tasty tea you are more than welcome. We also have brays pork pies in this week which are a must try and lots of snacks to get stuck in to. Where we can, we aim to source as many goodies either from our farm or from Norfolk.
The dogs will bark to say hello, but would’nt hurt a fly, unless the fly had just been rolling in a bowl of dog treats.
Quick recipe idea: Steam/ boil some asparagus for a few minutes, drizzle some oak smoked oil on them and dip them in some runny hens or duck eggs.
From all of us at the farm as we enter the wonders of spring, have a wonderful weekend.
