The Flood Resilience Committee met this week for the second time. There has been a good level of feedback from villagers on the flooding problems around the village (around 25 responses). This has all been incorporated into a number of documents that have been prepared detailing the issues we face with flooding and water drainage.
From here, the plan is to engage an expert engineer to examine the situation, documents, feedback and report on possible remedial action. A quote is being sought. This report will then be submitted to the local authorities for action.
In the meantime, some local intervention will be possible, with the appropriate permissions, to maintain and improve the existing drainage system around the village.
The matter is on the agenda for the next Parish Council (Tuesday 16th March) where a verbal report will be given and a formal request for funding the engineer’s report will be made.
