The foundations have been dug for the Church extension and are ready for the concrete to be poured.

Just to remind you, the next Men’s Mardle is at 12:00 this Wednesday (7th August) at the Ferry House Inn, Surlingham (our regular table is booked). It would be great if you could make it.

As some of you already know, Geoff is very unwell following his operation back in June. So, unfortunately, he won’t be able to join us. But Brian and I felt it important to keep this event going in Geoff’s absence; we wish him and the family well.

Please invite anyone else who might enjoy a simple social gathering such as this. Especially this month, as I have had to resort to a very old distribution list, which almost certainly is missing many newer members and may have older out-of-date email addresses, please check that friends have received a reminder and bring them along.

Surlingham won the Inter-village boseln race which took place on Sunday between Surlingham, Rockland and Bramerton.

A fun day had by all who participated!

Chilli has returned, leg injured but otherwise o.k.  Thanks to everyone who looked out for him!

Fund raising continued at The Ferry Quiz last night and another £92 was raised, which brings the total to £392. After gift-aiding this will be well above four hundred pounds.

A HUGE thank you to Ruth and Andrew for hosting the tea party at their house. It was a huge success.

And thank you as well all quizzers and customers at The Ferry for their generosity, and to the Ferry for allowing us to operate, ‘on their patch’. A good time was had by all, in spite of the hot and sticky evening.
