All are welcome at a final performance of the short play, ‘The Surlingham Girl’ by drama students from Fram at the church at 4pm this Sunday (4th May), followed by refreshments. There is no charge but a collection for the church will be made.
‘The Surlingham Girl’ is about Susannah Holmes, a simple servant girl from the village. Modern day Australians are interested in her (and obtain information from this site – Hello Australia!) as she was one of the first prisoners to be shipped to Australia, after committing a very minor crime and being sent to Norwich Castle prison.
The play has already been performed at the Norwich Playhouse and to schools, and this is a special performance in St Mary’s, the church where Susannah was christened 250 years ago exactly.
For more on Susannah Holmes see the history pages of this web site click here.
Do come along and support Fram school and the church.
