May is the ideal time to take in the delightful dawn chorus over the marshes.
It’s a bit of nature that should be shared and experienced widely so we’d like to make it accessible to Surlingham residents. If you would like to spend an early morning or two enjoying the dawn chorus on Alderfen Marshes this May, just let us know.

The most abundant chorus resonates on clear, dry mornings during May from approx 5.00am. As the month progresses the chorus changes, incorporating the sounds of migrant birds as they arrive.
Numbers are limited each morning to protect the natural habitat from disturbance, so please let us know your preferred day and time and we’ll get back to you to confirm.
This morning’s chorus sounded like this …. and we’re still in April
No dogs please as the marshes are a SSSI conservation area.
We look forward to welcoming you to Alderfen Marshes.
