Thank you everyone for coming to Padmaloka last Tuesday evening, it was a joy to have so many of the community share in our life. For those who would like to follow up on meditation, the Norwich Buddhist Centre has meditation classes at these times:
This Sunday (24th) is the Feast of Christ the King, when we celebrate his lordship over the Church and the Universe. Our services are Communion at Rockland St. Mary, 9.30am and Surlingham, 11am.
Warm Welcome meets in The Barn on Monday (25th), 11.30am-4pm. The Barn is lovely and warm, and so are the people! Rockland PCC meets in The Barn at 7.30pm.
On Saturday (30th) Eleven Says Assembly and Distribution is taking place at Bergh Apton Village Hall at 9am. All helping hands welcome!
Advent begins on the following Sunday (Dec 1st). There’s Communion at Claxton, 9.30am, and Cafe Church meets at Rockland Parish Room between 10.30am and 12 Noon with
Advent as its theme. Our annual Tree of Light Service is at Rockland Church, 3.30pm. It is intended to support anyone who’s facing Christmas following bereavement, with opportunities to dedicate stars for the Christmas tree, light candles, and remember with thanksgiving. Stars and invitations can be found at the back of our churches.
Attached is the December services poster for easy reference.
Thank you for your kind wishes, prayers and support in recent weeks. I am feeling much improved, and very grateful.
Best wishes, Nick

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Angus our Fox Red Labrador here at the farm. He passed away peacefully yesterday. The softest, gentlest soul with a hunger for stealing pastries the size of his heart. He meant the world to us here at the farm and we know that he also meant so very much to many of you who came to visit and became a part of your trip. Whether he was begging you to throw him a ball, needing a good cuddle or simply doing what Labs do best and softening you up for some grub we felt it only right to let you know as we know he was yours as well as our over his many adventurous years.. He was so heavily woven into the very fabric of the farm and it is devastating. These little furry bundles of joy become such an integral part of our lives, and though we all know the day will come, it still hits you hard. Thank you for giving him all the love you did, he sure gave it back tenfold. All the very best Angus at that Patisserie in the sky we know that you’ll find and you’ll have no trouble finding a ball thrower or two.
We have a new Christmas card coming out this year (hopefully with us next week) and will be donating a percentage of sales to charity. It is a wonderful illustration by a local artist of our farm setting. Do look out for Angus in it!
The shop is utterly full to the brim. We have gift ideas in the form of children’s books and some poetry from a local Author (me), Local Christmas/ all year round cards from Charlie and Gina. We also have lots of Christmas goodies such as mince meat, Mince pies (the Walkers ones are my very faves) Christmas Puddings, Gingerbread men, unicorns, Christmas trees and should be having the real Christmas trees in too very soon so keep an eye out for the sign at the top of the drive. Fresh in we have apple juice, Marsh Pig Charcuterie, Game (venison, boar, partridge etc) black pudding, sausage meat, pizzas, chutneys, honey, eggs, cheeses, frozen fish and even some more of our frozen mince (any two packs for only £6.50!)
There is Alec with his Fish Van still every Thursday 1:30pm until 2:30pm and we should also have one more batch of fresh Belted Galloway rare breed grass fed beef in before Christmas so watch this space.
Open 8am until 9pm every single day including Bank Holidays Mill Road, Surlingham, NR14 7GD.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, have a wonderful weekend all.

Sadly Maurice Wright and Freda Bradshaw recently died.
Maurice came of a farming family, many talented, a fount of local history, a loved and kind friend and member of the Padmaloka community.
Freda and her husband Peter lived in Surlingham for many years, Maurice was a friend, especially to Freda after Peter died. Freda had a lovely sense of humour! Her funeral will be at St. Mary’s on December 12th at 12.30pm.
