The summer exhibition at St Mary’s Church will be themed Bugs and Beasties. Get your creative juices, flowing and fashion an insect that crawls, jumps or slides, either real or imaginary. Leave your creations either in the box in the church porch, or at Mayfield, Ferry Road.
There will be an afternoon social at St Mary’s Church on Saturday 27th of April 2-4.30pm. As well as delicious refreshments there will be a Bugs, Beasties and Bats workshop to make exhibits for the church summer exhibition and to support the talk on bats to be given on 13th July at the church.
I would like to create a community poem, entitled “Insect Musings” so I hope people will (anonymously if you like) write a few words or short sentence about the creepy crawlies that share the planet with us. A box for submissions will be provided.
The handbells have been refurbished and will be on display.
Hopefully Mark and Sue Walland, who carried out the refurbishment, will be there to demonstrate how to ring them.
There will also be a display of handcrafts and textiles.
All in all, an afternoon, not to be missed!
