Village Scarecrow Trail – win a cash prize!

As part of the School Summer Fayre celebrations this year FOSS are organising a village Scarecrow Trail. You are invited to let your imaginations run wild and make a scarecrow to display outside your home or around the village. Entry costs only £2 and the favourite scarecrow of the weekend will win a cash prize!

This entry form ScarecrowEntryForm contains all the information you need to start creating. A large bale of straw has kindly been donated by Ian Stiff to help us all out and this will be freely available to all from Victoria Wright’s front garden (The Nest, Mill Road ) from this weekend onwards (so you can get scarecrow building over half term!).
A trail map will be available for a small charge nearer to the weekend to show where scarecrows have been placed and to guide visitors around the trail. This will also act as a voting form to allow people to pick their favourite scarecrow of the weekend.

As well as being a fun event for the whole village to support we hope that the trail will bring some visitors into Surlingham so if you run a local business then a scarecrow could be a great way to let people know where you are and what you have to offer!
