Due to issues in production, a much condensed newsletter was included with the latest ElevenSays. See below..

The St Mary’s Church handbells were originally bought from The Church Bell Foundry on Whitechapel Road in London on 30th September 1899; the church still has the original receipt for £6 15/- (£6.75). They hadn’t been played for many years but last year they were renovated by Mark Walland thanks to the generosity of the community.
The handbells were played once again at last year’s Christmas Carol Service and were available for all to try at this year’s FOSS school fete.
Would you like to have a go….?
Volunteers are needed to ring the handbells for various Christmas events this year. You’ll need to be able to commit to the occasional evening or daytime rehearsal depending on group availabilities.
Contact Alexandra Evans on 07771 778162 for more information.

If you are in need of assistance or organise a group that supports parishioners, be it a sporting or some other activity you can apply. Groups can apply for funds for equipment; hall hire or anything else to help keep the activity running.
To apply send details of how the funds could help you or your group to Janet Rogers, 1 Broadfields Way, Rockland St Mary. Telephone: 01508 538921 or Email: surlinghamchurchandpoor@outlook.com. Closing date 31 October 2025

Hello you one and all!
It’s that time of the year that we can indulge and be mesmerised by the copper and amber shades in our lovely village… and with it, comes our special Warmers on a daily basis with our famous soups, new breakfast menus and Sunday lunches (this one being Portuguese Surf and Turf – sauted pork with clams and fries served with Mediterranean salad), grazing boards available over the weekend with no need to prebook. Each Thursday we can cook for you whatever fish you want: easy! Visit Alec in the fish van at @yarevalleyfarmshop, bring it to us and Joaquim will cook it! Alec has great discounts for you on that one.
Oh and obviously our annual Dog Photo Shoot that this year has a symbolic entry fee of £2 that goes directly in our charity box to raise funds to buy gifts to be delivered at the NNUH for Children with Cancer just before Xmas! Let’s make our beloved late Angus proud!
So lots going on this month! And much more in November!
See you all very soon!
