Fresh Beef in at YARE VALLEY FARM SHOP!

Bonjour all you lovely people.

Just a quick note to say our fresh farm reared grass fed Belted Galloway beef will be in the shop from tomorrow 5/6/25. There is a wide range of cuts such as steaks, joints, mince and much much more so be sure not to miss out. We have gone for an even thicker cut of steak for a very luxurious cut of our tender beef.

The shop is jam packed full of goodies… including jam. We have some more pizzas coming in this Friday 6/06/25 and are now all priced at £9.95. There is also a new biscotti, we have local charcoal for those bbqs. Very good quality and perfect with the beef.

We also had some bespoke pies made for us. The beef and onion pies use our beef and there are also fruit and chicken pies, all now in the fridge ready for your oven.

Also we have listened and will soon have local bread for you in the shop. It will be frozen upon delivery for you to simply defrost and use as you wish. There will be a range of items and from the samples we have received we know you are going to love them.

New Tech wise we have a new fancy card machine too. Touch screen and even easier to use, but we have popped some instructions beside the card machine if you need any help getting started with it. You simply enter the amount and tap to pay, you can also even choose to have your receipt printed or not so you can save paper if you have online banking/ do not require a receipt. We also do not require one.

We also have Alec here with his Fresh Fish van outside the farm shop 1:30pm until 2:30pm Thursday 5/06/25 with his delicious wide range and is always open for a chat about what is best and cooking ideas.

Teles are up to their usual tasty tricks over at the patisserie with their munchies and drinkies (sorry, thought I would try a new word… awful and twee). Do pop down, there have ben many in today enjoying the rays of sun with a cuppa and a natter outside. Their toasties are glorious and a must try and if you feel adventurous ask for a ‘Glenn Special.’ It is a chai tea to die for and I grab one whenever I am in. Open every day except Monday and Tuesdays for their well deserved days off.

Whatever you are doing, wherever you are… have a wonderful week.

Today’s Wheatfen Walk for Parishioners

Will Fitch, the warden at Wheatfen, led parishioners on a lovely guided walk around the Ted Ellis nature reserve at Wheatfen this morning.

Wheatfen is home to a wide range of wildlife, rare fen flowers, dragonflies, birds and the iconic Swallowtail butterfly.

Highlights today included sighting the larvae of the Galleruca Beetle, which is not found anywhere else in the UK, and of course no trip to Wheatfen would be complete without seeing the aforementioned Swallowtail Butterfly; although they wouldn’t stay still long enough to photograph!

Many thanks to Will for his time, passion and informative commentary.
