The Surlingham Volunteers Scheme which was so effective during the first lockdown is returning and will help to deliver food and medicine to local residents who have no other means of support.
If you need help, then contact one of the coordinators listed in the accompanying leaflet below. The leaflet will be printed and delivered to every household in the Parish over the next couple of days.
The scheme is supported by the local Church and the Parish Council.
If you would like to join the team of volunteers, please contact Clive Evans 538234.

Dear all, I hope you are keeping well. Arrangements for this year’s very different Remembrance Sunday reflect where we are as a nation and also what is happening in the wider world. However, it remains a time to reflect, give thanks for the sacrifices made by those who came before us to defend freedom, and to commit ourselves to peace and reconciliation today.
The Royal British Legion have asked that rather than gather as normal to keep the 2 minute’s silence, this should be done in our homes, on our doorsteps or in our gardens. Their theme for 2020 is ‘Coming Home’, as we protect others by our decisions and actions today, just as servicemen and women protected our homes in different contexts. The RBL’s guidance on remembrance can be found here
Due to social distancing, it hasn’t been possible to run the poppy appeal in the usual way, but the RBL’s vital work must continue. Please may I encourage you to give as generously as you can. The link to the RBL donation page is here
What is happening locally? All our churches and churchyards will be open during the day for those who wish to pay their respects, lay wreaths or other tributes. There will also be a short act of remembrance in Claxton churchyard at 10:45. You are welcome to visit the memorials, but please remember to maintain 2m social distancing at all times, wear masks inside church and do not touch any tributes apart from those you have brought. Helen and I will also make a video act of worship that will be posted on surlingham.org With best wishes and prayers for you and all who you remember at this time. Rev Nick Garrard

With the recent announcement of another lock down we just wanted to let you know we will be open as usual here with our small but mighty shop.
8am-9pm every day including weekends. If there is anything you would like us to source or would like just let us know. We also do home delivery if you cant make it to the shop. Simply click the HERE.
We have fresh beef coming in in 3 weeks so if there are any particular cuts you would like please do let us know. We have fresh Bread in and freshly frozen bread (whatever that means) and milk, eggs, large range of meats, veg coming in tomorrow, lots of cheeses, gifty things (we will be doing hampers soon) and lots of kitchen cupboard essentials.
If you have any questions, or need any help with anything we will not leave you in the lurch, no question is too silly. Just pick up the phone and give us a call. Except ‘why is orange jam called marmalade.’ No one knows the answer.
Simply email: info@yarevalleyoils.co.uk or call: 01508 538206
Much love from Yare Valley
Glenn and Lily

Sadly, because of the imminent lock down from this coming Thursday for the next 4 weeks, we will be unable to hold any services in church for at least that period, so with this in mind the Remembrance Sunday service has had to be cancelled
Our churches will remain open for private prayer.
I hope and pray that it won’t be too long before we can resume services in all our churches.
God bless, Mandy Ansell
