News from the Barn: Art Cafe and Save the Date

Art Cafe in the Barn Wednesday Feb 12th 10.30am-12.15pm

Feel inspired by my grandmother’s chocolate box of cards and photos from the First World War to the 1920s! Why not make a card for someone (or to keep!) to cheer them through the cold days of late winter?

Save the Date: Out of Darkness, Light launch Mar 8th 2-5pm

We’ve received a wealth of submissions for our forthcoming showing, and all contributors and Barn supporters are welcome to join us for refreshments and a first look. We’re also looking for help with the pre-showing Barn Clean on Monday Mar 3rd, 5pm onwards and volunteers to join the Welcome rota. Please contact me or Helen for more info and offers of help.

Best wishes,

Nick

Still at the Temple Sunday 2nd February and other Barn Things

We’re marking Candlemas (Presentation of Christ in the Temple) at the Barn tomorrow afternoon from 4-5pm with Still at the Temple. As the Christmas celebration ends in this poignant moment, we reflect on all that has been and the real work of Christmas that continues. Andrew Clarke also sent this link to a visual presentation of the Candlemas story that you may find helpful

Art Cafe on the Road: The Turner and landscapes exhibition lived up to expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting up at the Castle Museum. The exhibition finish on Feb 23rd, so there’s still time to catch it!

Art Cafe in the Barn: The Cafe opens at 10.30am on Feb 12th, when we’re making cards (and other things). More details to follow soon.

Out of Darkness, Light: We’ve received a wealth of submissions and are planning the Showing. There will be an opening event on March 8th, 2pm-5pm – Keep the date!

Best wishes, Nick
