Temporary Traffic Order: Bramerton Lane – 13th February to 21st February 2025

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (STRO12060) affecting the C195 Bramerton Road from its junction with U78189 Church Lane for 135m north eastwards (“Road A”) and C195 Bramerton Road from its junction with U78189 Church Lane for 300m south westwards (“Road B”) in the Parish of Surlingham to facilitate installation of new fibre network, the Roads A and B will be temporarily closed/restricted (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 13th February to 21st Febraury 2025 only whilst signs indicate closures are in place, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 4th April 2025 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: Bramerton Road, Walnut Hill, School Lane, Mill Road, Surlingham Lane, The Street, Rookery Hill, Bramerton Lane, Rockland Road, Surlingham Road (Surlingham, Rockland St. Mary, Bramerton).

Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Roads A and B where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.

The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works/when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 4th April 2025 without further notice.

If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.

A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

Applications open today and run until February 23rd. For a £300 membership fee, we can form a group of up to 9 artists, sharing details of our whereabouts and opening hours and gaining publicity, all  for a reduced fee.

Services and Events this week (Jan 19th-26th)

Here’s this week’s news about services and events in the Rockland parishes.

Sunday’s morning services (Jan 19th) are 9.30amCommunion at Surlingham and 11am Mattins at Kirby Bedon.

On Monday Warm Welcome at the Barn gathers between 11.30am and 3.30pm for warm company and freshly made soup and cakes. All welcome!

The following Sunday (Jan 26th) sees us coming together at Claxton Village Hall, 10am-11.30am, for Bacon Rolls and Ancient Scrolls. Starting with the day’s gospel reading from Luke 4, we’re exploring our faith through worship, discussion and crafts, plus bacon rolls!

Temporary Traffic Order: Pratts Hill – 20th-22nd January 2025

Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (STRO12056) affecting the U78016 Pratts Hill from its junction with C195 Bramerton Road to its junction with U78016 New Road (the “Road”) in the  Parish of Surlingham to facilitate CityFibre installation works for new fibre network, the Road will be temporarily closed (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be from 20th to 22nd January 2025, but may continue to be closed until the 5th March 2025 where the closure is still required beyond the anticipated dates.

Alternative route is via: New Road, Pond Lane, School Lane, Walnut Hill.
