Aem Hai Surlingham karate club

We are part of the Aem Hai Martial Art school under sensei Daniel kean-Cockburn that runs two classes every Tuesday at the Surlingham school hall and is open to ALL between the ages of 4 and half and 16.
We are a Shokan Karate school but cover a variety of other martial arts including jujitsu, kickboxing and kombat kobudo along with functional self defence and fitness.

1st class 3.30pm to 4.30pm

2nd class 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Surlingham Tornadoes u11 football team is looking for a volunteer referee for home games. This age group is still non competitive and it is very friendly. It is the best view of the game and it really is great fun.

We will be playing our home games at Fram on Sunday mornings and our home league games are on 22/9, 6/10, 27/10, 17/11 and 1/12.

Surlingham- A South Rivers Village

Yesterday afternoon Jenny Riley launched her book at the Ferry House pub. This edition brings her father’s book of the same name up to date with additional colour photographs and stories from the last 30 years. The pub was packed to hear Jenny briefly describe how the original book was compiled and how her update was conceived; a casual suggestion by her friends and sailing companions Rachel & Richard Card nearly 3 years ago.

Big thanks to Sonia and her team for the mountain of scone cream teas enjoyed by many.

Copies of the book, priced £14.99, are available to buy from Clive Evans, Mayfield, Ferry Road (538234).

All profits from the sale of this excellent social history are to be given to St Mary’s Church.
