Surlingham

A black cat (no collar, has a cut on its leg) has been straying around the houses at the Padmaloka end of The Green for the past six months or so.   The cat is always hungry and fortunately it is being fed regularly by a kind resident. There is concern that the cat is outside in all weather, particularly during the current cold spell. If this could be your cat, please contact Vanessa on 01508 538955 (or use contact us). Should an owner not be forthcoming,  the cat will be taken in for re-homing.

Please be aware, report of bogus police officer has stolen money from elderly resident in Palgrave. If you answer the door and are unsure ask to see identification, and ring 101 to confirm. If the officer is genuine they wont mind waiting.

And our monthly Portuguese weekends are back!

This weekend we are preparing a special menu to give you a taste of Portugal. We have a set menu that will be served with artisan sangria.

Menu:

starter – Portuguese olives and bread

Mains – platter of different Portuguese cheese and Portuguese bread; platter of Portuguese grilled chorizo, pickles and bread; Portuguese soup “Caldo Verde” (vegetarian option available)

Dessert – Chocolate mousse

From 21st January 2019 it seems that the no. 85 bus service between Norwich and Surlingham will be run by Our Hire. The timetable appears to be the same as before and can be found under the Special Interest menu on Surlingham.org or on the Our Hire website   click here

Surlingham Garage are seeking to appoint an organised and reliable individual with excellent communication and driving skills.

This varied role includes providing administrative and driving support including the delivery of exceptional customer service.  Full training will be provided.

• Arranging collection and delivery of customer vehicles
• Arranging delivery and collection of vehicles to and from MOT test station
• Manage incoming calls and post
• Diary management
• Maintain sales and purchase ledgers
• Monitor shared Outlook mailboxes and respond to customer queries professionally and efficiently
• Credit control
• Provide general office administrative support

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder may be required on occasion to perform other duties assigned by the owner.  

Applicants must be confident in driving and hold a full clean UK driving licence

Salary £18,250 per annum

Full-time permanent position Monday-Friday 7.30 am-4.30 pm.
