(SURLINGHAM) (EMERGENCY NOTICE)

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION 2018

Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 – Section 14(2)

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to a collapsed garage in the carriageway due to a tractor trailer overturning the use by vehicles of the C195 Walnut Hill from a point 10 metres south of its junction with U78016 Pratts Hill for a distance of 10 metres southwards in the PARISH OF SURLINGHAM will be temporarily prohibited from 10th September 2018 to 14th September 2018 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 5 days within the period. If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 21 days.

Alternative route is via: Walnut Hill, Pratts Hill, New Road, Pond Lane.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

I’m pleased to say the Found Dog has been reunited with its owner

A dog has turned up in our garden, at 45 the Green, Surlingham. Brown, medium size (possibly Labrador?) with a red collar.  No tag.  Please share this info, and collect if it’s yours.

The sun shone and visitors enjoyed a range of activities and displays. A very big thank you to everyone who came along and joined us – and to all those who helped set up, man the stalls, pack away, and of course our cake bakers. We raised £730 for Friends of Surlingham Church from the stalls we ran and the refreshments and this will go towards the repairs to the building.

Other village groups also contributed activities and attractions and they all made small sums for their own organisations; these included the W.I., Forest School, the Ted Ellis Trust.  After deducting the cost of ingredients Padmaloka made a profit of £300 on the activities they ran and the sale of their quiches, bread and cakes.  They are donating this to the fund for improvements to the village hall.

The next Parish Council meeting is on Tuesday 18th September 2018 at 7:30 in the parish hall. Refreshments available from 7:15.

Please note following the Parish Council meeting there will be a planning meeting of Surlingham’s commemoration to mark the centenary of WW1 on 11 November 2018. The school children are getting involved so if you have information of the soldiers from Surlingham who died, memorabilia to display or stories you could share with the children and the wider community please come along.
