South Norfolk Council budgets –  a chance for you to have your say

The Parish clerk has received the following request from the Council who are consulting on budget priories for 2017/8.  She would like as many people as possible to have the opportunity to respond.

South Norfolk District Councils – Consultation on 2017/18 Budget

As many of you will already be aware, this is the time of year when we consult our residents and businesses on our budget priorities for the next financial year.  The views of those in your Parish are invaluable to us and we would very much appreciate your responses to the six questions asked on the survey which can be found by Clicking here.
Deadline for submission is 31st January 2017 and your views are of utmost importance to us.
Thanking you in advance.

The Broads Authority is producing a new Local Plan. The new Local Plan will have policies and land use allocations to help determine planning applications. This is the second stage of the Local Plan production process, where we introduce our draft policies. This consultation stage offers a real opportunity for you to influence the Local Plan.

This consultation ends at 4pm on 3 February 2017

We are holding a public session on Thursday 19 January, 6pm to 8pm, Loddon & Chedgrave Jubilee Hall Sports & Social Club where you can drop in and talk to the Authority’s officers.

Bulk oil buying syndicate

Affinity Thinking Fuel – some clarification of the earlier post and how to register

The earlier post was directed towards those in the village who have ALREADY registered for this oil-buying scheme. The scheme was originally offered, under another name, under the auspices of ‘Norfolk RCC’.

The scheme is now operated by Affinity Fuel, who are working with Community Action Norfolk, a charity merged from Norfolk RCC and another organisation and funded by Norfolk County Council. It is a bulk oil-buying scheme, whereby Affiinity negotiate the best possible prices for syndicates.

New members can join Surlingham’s syndicate. To register, you should (according to Affinity) phone Community Action Norfolk on 01362 698216. You will then be able to order oil according to the schedule in yesterday’s post.

Information received from Patrick at Affinity Fuel today.

Coldham Hall CLOSED Saturday 14th January

Untitled.jpg

Message from Coldham Hall: “The high tides have affected us quite badly here at Coldham Hall.  Last night both the cellar and kitchen were under water.  The kitchen is now cleaned and fully operational but the cellar is still under a foot of water.  We will remain closed for the rest of the day but we are hopeful come tomorrow morning the waters will have subsided and we will be open for lunch as normal!”

Information Received from Stephen Brind at Coldham Hall
