Surlingham bus changes – your views please

There is a proposal to reduce bus services between Surlingham and Norwich from September.  Services into the city are to be reduced from 7 to 5 daily, and services back from 8 to 5 daily.  Please do send your views directly to the email address at the base of the draft timetable in the Norfolk County Council document below.

Defibrillator Training

Due to Surlingham now having a defibrillator located at the Village Hall, we thought it might be useful to offer a First Aid AED (Defib) course for those of you interested.

We are an accredited First Aid Training Centre and our daughter Claire (who is a qualified Nurse) is the Instructor – she would be willing to do a First Aid AED Training course at the Surlingham Village Hall (or another venue within the Village) at the reduced rate of £30 per person.  Within the 3 hour course you will be taught to use the Defibrillator, CPR skills for adults and children and how to manage a choking person, to name just a few of the skills included  – on successful completion you will receive a certificate and card to confirm you are AED qualified.

She is happy to do the course at a weekend or in the evening if this is more convenient.

If you want to find out more, please phone Claire or me on 01508 550430.

Tiny Acorns – join us for some woodland play tomorrow

Tiny Acorns is a group for children (walking – 4 years) and their parents or carers, which takes place in the woods at the Ted Ellis Trust Nature Reserve, Surlingham on Friday mornings between 10am & 12pm during term time. Meet in the car park just before 10 to join us for some woodland play and elevenses!

Build a den, make mud pies.

Meet a tree, chase butterflies.

Roll in leaves, find a gnome.

Make some fairies a new home.

Come down to the woods whether sunny or grey,

and dress for the weather, so you can play!

£6 per session including refreshments. Siblings £4, pre-walking free, additional adult £2. Call Rose Hoare on 01508 538157 or 07787 553577 for more information.
