Seasonal soup of the day (vegetarian), homemade bread

Chicken liver parfait, toasted homemade bread, crispy chicken skin & cranberry sauce

Home cured salmon, red onion & caper salad & honey mustard dressing

Pan fried tiger prawns with a lime, chilli & soy dressing & dressed salad leaves

MAINS

Three bird roast: Norfolk turkey, Gressingham duck breast & Norfolk chicken breast. Served with roast potatoes, pork, sage & onion stuffing, pigs in blankets, honey glazed parsnips, braised red cabbage, selection of seasonal vegetables, rich gravy

Cancellation policy: changes must be advised within 48 hours notice of the meal to avoid incurring extra costs for food preparation already undertaken.

Tiny Acorns – join us for some woodland play!

Tiny Acorns is a new group for children (walking – 4 years) and their parents or carers, which takes place in the woods at the Ted Ellis Trust Nature Reserve, Surlingham on Friday mornings between 10am & 12pm during term time. Join us for some woodland play and elevenses!

Build a den, make mud pies.

Meet a tree, chase butterflies.

Roll in leaves, find a gnome.

Make some fairies a new home.

Come down to the woods whether sunny or grey,

and dress for the weather, so you can play!

£6 per session including refreshments. Siblings £4, pre-walking free. Dates: 2nd, 9th & 16th October, 6th, 13th, 20th& 27th November, 4th, 11th December. Spaces are limited so booking is essential!

Tiny Acorns is run by Rose Hoare and Jo Albrow. Rose Hoare is qualified forest school leader with outdoor first aid and child safeguarding qualifications, and an up-to-date DBS (formerly CRB) check. Jo Albrow has a diploma in childcare, first aid & safeguarding qualifications, DBS, and has completed level 1 Introduction to Forest School.

Do come along to a Macmillan Coffee Morning  on Monday 28th Sept 10am-12pm at Flint Cotage, Church Lane, Surlingham ( just beyond the church). Help raise funds for much needed research and towards the care of those whose lives are touched by Cancer. All welcome.

Winbirri harvest 2015

I know a lot of you expressed an interest in taking part in a harvest and some of you did not get chance to attend last year,  that time is now approaching us the first open harvest day (Solaris)   will be on the 26th September.  If any you would like to take part please let me know so I can get numbers together for the food in the evening.  The plan for the day, start picking from 9 onwards then mid morning coffees and bacon rolls are provided then normally around 4.30 ish we head back to the winery to start the processing.  Well I start the processing you all get to enjoy some of last year’s wines and socialise with your fellow pickers whilst watching the wine making process.  Then evening food is provided.
