A big thank you to all those who came along and supported the quiz at the Ferry last night. Lovely to see so many Ferry regulars and Rockland residents as well as Surlingham locals and thank you to Ros and the staff at the Ferry for hosting so well. A good time seemed to be had by all.

£120 was raised for St Martins Housing from your donations.

Can you craft a butterfly or two or three or more?

I would like to put together a display of butterflies to be showcased in the church alongside the flower display to mark the King’s coronation. It would be lovely if this could be a could be a community endeavour.

Any crafted butterfly: knitted, crocheted, origami, sewn, sculpted with modelling junk, drawn on paper and cut out would be welcome; the more the merrier.

You can drop your creations off at Mayfield, Ferry Road or in the church porch. I’m hoping to get so many that it will take me a week to put the display together so I’ll need them by 30th April. That’s just four weeks away so we’d better get cracking.

In addition to the butterflies and beautiful flower displays, there will also be a reprise of the knitted street party with a few extra additions and (fingers crossed) refreshments served on Sunday 7th May.

Let’s get the church looking really spectacular!

Good afternoon all your wonderful people you.

So it is now officially Spring…apparently…

Try telling that to the sleet and cold. But hey.., fast forward to August and I will be moaning about how overwhelmingly hot it is. Joys of versatility.

We do have something rather exciting for you beef lovers out there. Coming in this Friday the 31st March we have Belted Galloway beef arriving in the shop. Like all our other breeds of cow they are all reared here on the farm. However, the belted Galloway is rare breed and grass fed for an incredible flavour, so it is a must not miss for those looking for a perfect cut of beef. There will be a large array of cuts and sizes for you to choose from.

On Thursday 30th March the Fish Van will be here 1:30pm until 3pm and Alec will be ready with all his tasty fish for your culinary creations.

Teles Patisserie are doing their thing as per with special offers, hot and cold drinks, sweet and savoury treats and are a perfect stop on your travels.

The Shop has just had delivery of a wide range of calzones, more pizzas, eggs will be with us Friday, milk (we have just started stocking strawberry milk as well as the usual chocolate), ice cream, oils, veg, frozen goodies, cakes, crisps, chocolates, rhubarb, kitchen cupboard essentials, Easter treats and much much more. As ever may we thank you for your continued custom. We hope to see you soon.

Here’s a ‘joke’ for you:

Two muffins were sitting in an oven.

One turned to the other and said, “Wow, it’s pretty hot in here.” The other one shouted, “Wow, a talking muffin!”

Big waves and smiles from everyone at Yare Valley 🙂
