September Church services and support following the death of HM the Queen

Following Thursday’s candlelit vigil at Rockland St. Mary, our churches continue to give thanks for Her Majesty’s life and legacy and providing support for the local community. Bells were tolled at 12 noon today in Bramerton and Rockland.

There is an opportunity to add your message to the Diocesan Condolence Book using the pages placed in all our churches (available until Sept 28th), together with the Archbishop of Canterbury’s statement (see below). The Churches will be open daily for prayer and reflection as usual and visitors are welcome to leave messages on the prayer tree or light candles on the stand in Rockland Church.

The visit by Archdeacon Steven to Rockland St Mary has been postponed until further notice.

Please see the poster below for September’s Church services.

The 10am Benefice Communion service on Sunday 11th at Rockland St Mary will have particular focus on thanksgiving for the late Queen and praying for our new King, the Royal Family and our nation in this time of great change and loss. There will be refreshments afterwards in the Barn, so that we can come together and share memories and talk about the times ahead. If you have kindly offered to bring refreshments, the Barn kitchen will be open before the service.

Please keep the King and Royal Family, our local schools, organisations and public services in your prayers at this time.

God bless, Nick
