BBC Local Radio ‘Sunday Service’ to be broadcast from Norwich Cathedral at 8am on Sunday 20th September

Since the Covid-19 lockdown commenced earlier this year, local BBC radio stations have taken it in turn to produce and broadcast ‘The Sunday Service’, which is then simultaneously broadcast across all the local BBC radio stations nationwide.

The ‘Sunday Service’ tomorrow morning at 8am will be coming from Norwich Cathedral and can be listened to on Radio Norfolk…… and ALL other local BBC Radio Stations 😊

Norfolk road safety views needed for national review

Norfolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Lorne Green, is encouraging the county’s residents to share their views on road safety in order to help inform a Government review.

The Home Office and Department for Transport are currently reviewing roads policing and what the future of traffic law enforcement may look like.

PCC Lorne Green is urging Norfolk residents to take the opportunity to have their say and help inform national policy aimed at making roads safer.

“The safety of our roads is something which affects everyone; for those whose lives have been impacted by dangerous or reckless driving the effect could be truly devastating.

“When speaking with Norfolk residents, road safety regularly comes up as a key concern and, as such, is one of the priorities in my Police and Crime Plan for our county.

“From supporting enforcement and awareness activity by police and community-led Speedwatch schemes, to collaborating with partners on best use of tools such as safety cameras and educating young drivers on the dangers of the road, I have been committed to doing all I can to make our roads safer for all who use them.

“But some changes, such as the powers and penalties the police can use in enforcing the law and the flexibility local areas have to deal with the issues affecting them, need to come from the top. This is an important opportunity for Norfolk residents’ views to be heard and taken into account by this Government review.

“I’d urge all Norfolk residents to take the time to complete this short survey and ensure their views are understood and voices heard.”

The Association of Police and Crime Commissioners’ survey can be found  here  and will run until 30 September 2020.

Rockland St Mary Gardening Club – Update

Here is an update on the Gardening Club.  Six members of the committee met on Tuesday evening to discuss the current situation in light of the new regulations introduced by the Government on Monday.
It was agreed to suspend all activities until the beginning of 2021.  The committee (if restrictions permit at that time) will then  meet again and discuss the best way forward.  Penny Mills has agreed to provisionally book garden visits for next summer and most of the speakers for this year have agreed to transfer to next year.
People have obviously been very busy during lockdown judging by how  their gardens are looking so good.
The committee sends its very best wishes to everyone.  Keep safe and well and hoping to see everyone in the new year.

New! Fresh Bread in the shop!

Just a quick one to say….

Hempnall  Bakery have just delivered!

Another request on the questionnaire we put out was some fresh quality local bread. £3.30 for a BIG loaf of wholemeal or white and £2.20 for a small sourdough. Thought we would start with these and see how they go.

Anything we dont sell fresh as has 3-4 days shelflife we will then freeze which will then keep for months, so will waste nothing and will be just as good. But if you want fresh, just keep buying it like the veg so we can keep that rotation up. They can deliver Wednesdays and Saturdays, we will start with smallish orders to see if there is demand.

Either way, big waves and smiles from the farm. Happy delicious bread eating.

We bring you…… BRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAD!
