It’s our last pop-up cafe this afternoon in Surlingham Church.  We’ll be open between 2 and 4pm and everyone is welcome.

The lineup of entertainment for South Norfolk on Show this year is looking to be the best yet! From Ping Pong dancing, storytelling and mini donkeys to comedy entertainment, there is something for everyone and it’s a FREE event.

Look out for great street food, drink, craft stalls and free workshops.

Feeling like you want to do something different?
Well we are doing activities for all group ages during the week.
Every Wednesday from 2.30 to 4.00 we will have a crochet, knitting and cross stitching group open to those who want to learn and also for those who know a lot! All with a nice cuppa and cake.
Tuesdays and Thursdays we will carry Spanish language lessons (from beginners to advanced)
All you need to do is ping us an email or show up!

Well our first birthday is approaching fast and we are preparing a week full of different things.

So bare in mind we will host along with Yare Valley Farm our first street food market. You will be able to experience flavours from South Africa (with the Durban Grill), Greece (with Souvlaki Shack), Italy (with Lasagneria), Vegan and Vegetarian (with Sarah by Nature) and we will have stalls with booze too such as Wildcraft brewery (with ales), Norfolk Raider Cider (with cider) and the guys from Chet and Waveney Vineyard (with their award wining Skylark among other wines for the day).

As some of you may know a litter pick took place in February along the riverbank of Surlingham and Bramerton and was well supported and a great success collecting four tonne bags of litter.

Firstly I wanted to say another huge thank you for everyone who volunteered and lent a helping hand.

The litter pick was entered into the South Norfolk Big Litter Pick for the second year in a row and I am very pleased to announce that we have won a prize of £220 for the second year running. £100 of last years prize money was spent on buying litter picks for anyone in the surrounding communities to use and the remaining money was donated to the Ted Ellis Nature Reserve.

This year I wanted to see if any one had any ideas on what the prize money could be spent on to further help the environment surrounding us.

If anyone would like to put an idea forward on what the money could be put towards then please let me know. Also if anyone would like to borrow the litter picks at any time then please contact Jasmine Atkins by using Contact Us

The sun has come out and (fingers crossed) it is forecast to stay dry today! Please join us on the school field for our summer fair 12-3pm.  Burgers and hot dogs (and veggie options) with meat from Orchard Farm shop.  Adnams Bitter, Ghost Ship, Lager, Pimms and soft drinks available at very reasonable prices.  Delicious teas and cakes in the village hall and a host of fun activities and chances to win fabulous prizes.

All proceeds to the Friends of Surlingham School.
