A workshop for would-be wood-whittlers; the spoon-carving workshop on Alderfen Marshes is an interactive and enjoyable introduction to green wood-carving.
Under expert guidance from Monica Cass, you can let your creative juices flow as you select, cut, split, chop and carve your log into a unique spoon. No previous woodcarving experience needed.
The second of this season’s Rural Skills Workshops on Alderfen Marshes; opportunities to get close to nature and learn new skills.

The Ferry House now has a 24hour defibrillator outside. Come and join us to see how to use one in an emergency. Jayne from local charity Heart2Heart will be providing the training.
And… this week Spring is arriving so we need to celebrate it here at Teles Patisserie along with all Surlingham.
So next Sunday, 24th of March, we will host a Spring Fair with amazing stallholders that will bring to us that perfect gift just in time before mother’s day!
From plants, flowers, to leather bags, beer and art we will also have a professional gift wrapper to give your gift that extra care.
And also, Anna from Dream Nails of Holt will be inside the patisserie to do your nails – don’t forget to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
It will be between 10.30 till 3.30 in the courtyard of our patisserie here at Yare Valley Farm. Don’t forget you can also visit the farm shop to source those amazing local produce.

Please join us for a quiz night on 23rd March in the Village Hall. Tickets are £8 each to include a delicious chilli or vegetarian chilli meal. You may come as a team of up to 6 people or as an individual (and we will help you find a friendly team to join!) There will be a bar available – kick off is 7.30pm and all proceeds will go to FOSS.

For those interesting in standing for District or Parish elections, the election timetable starts next week.
If candidates need help with electoral numbers for their nomination forms, please call the Elections Team on 01508 533704.
Nominations for the elections can be start to be submitted from 9am next Wednesday 20 March. Informal nomination checks will be provided during the nomination period.
They must be received by the deadline of 4pm on 3 April; however we recommend candidates submit them earlier rather than too close to the deadline, when there may not be time to rectify problems.
Forms must be hand delivered between 9am & 4pm on working days between 20 March and 3 April, to the Council offices at South Norfolk Council Offices, Cygnet Court, Long Stratton, NR15 2XE
