Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 – Section 14(2)

In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to a burst water main the use by vehicles of the C202 Bramerton Lane from its junction with C375 Run Lane for 50m eastwards in the PARISH OF ROCKLAND ST MARY will be temporarily prohibited from 15th to 19th May 2023 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 5 days within the period.

This Notice has a maximum duration of 21 days. Where exceptional circumstances are encountered during the performance of the works specified in this Notice, the operational period of this Notice may become extended by issuing an Order or further Notice to allow completion of the works for a maximum duration of 18 months.

Alternative route is via: Rookery Hill , The Street Surlingham Lane, Mill Road, School Lane, Walnut Hill, Bramerton Road, Surlingham Road The Street, Rockland Road, Bramerton Lane (Rockland St. Mary, Surlingham, Bramerton).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

The 5 Mile Network

Following a very positive first meeting in late April, the 5 Mile Network has established a regular meeting at Bramerton Village Hall on the first Monday of each month from 7.00pm – 9.00pm.

It’s an opportunity for local growers, producers, landowners and enthusiasts to exchange skills, ideas and produce with a view to strengthening local food resilience.

‘Exchangeables’ to bring and offer include locally grown produce, plants / seedlings, seeds, time, space, skills, expertise …

Teas, coffees and cake will be served from 2-5pm

Coronation Celebrations and the week ahead

Dear All,

I hope you are keeping well and enjoying the Coronation Bank holiday weekend.

Our church celebrations begin Sunday (7th with Crowns, Coffee and Croissants from 9.30am – 11am at the Barn. Come and make a crown, enjoy a late breakfast and come along to the Coronation.

Thanksgiving service is at St. Mary’s Church, Rockland St Mary at 11am.

Afterwards, you are welcome to enjoy flower arrangements in Claxton Church…..

Coronation Flowers and Butterflies celebrating the King’s Life at Surlingham Church with teas from 2-5pm….

…..plus other events organised by our local communities.

On Wednesday 10th Art Cafe meets in the Barn between 10.30am and 12 Noon. All welcome!

Christian Aid Week (May 14th-21st) begins soon, and more details about our fundraising effort will follow.

Services on May 14th will be 9.30am Communion at Claxton and 11am Morning Prayer at Carleton St. Peter.
