Easter is just round the corner so it’s time to get ready for this coming week to deliver you a great Easter!

This week we will have in stock apart from a great range of cakes!

• Portuguese red wine;
• Portuguese vinho verde;
• Port;
• Morello Cherry brandy;
• Portuguese beer;

A big thank you to all those who came along and supported the quiz at the Ferry last night. Lovely to see so many Ferry regulars and Rockland residents as well as Surlingham locals and thank you to Ros and the staff at the Ferry for hosting so well. A good time seemed to be had by all.

£120 was raised for St Martins Housing from your donations.

Please see attached the Agenda for Surlingham Parish Council’s AnnualParish meeting. There will be reports from local groups giving an update on the previous year anf their future plans.

There will be teas/coffees being served from 7pm with the meeting commencing at 7:30pm.

I would like to put together a display of butterflies to be showcased in the church alongside the flower display to mark the King’s coronation. It would be lovely if this could be a could be a community endeavour.

Any crafted butterfly: knitted, crocheted, origami, sewn, sculpted with modelling junk, drawn on paper and cut out would be welcome; the more the merrier.

You can drop your creations off at Mayfield, Ferry Road or in the church porch. I’m hoping to get so many that it will take me a week to put the display together so I’ll need them by 30th April. That’s just four weeks away so we’d better get cracking.

In addition to the butterflies and beautiful flower displays, there will also be a reprise of the knitted street party with a few extra additions and (fingers crossed) refreshments served on Sunday 7th May.
