Advice for visiting Sandringham – Norfolk Constabulary

People visiting Sandringham to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II are advised traffic control measures are currently in place.

Buckingham Palace announced yesterday that Her Majesty passed away peacefully at Balmoral in Scotland and since then, hundreds of people have attended the Norfolk royal residence to lay flowers.

In anticipation of well-wishers wanting to pay their respects at Sandringham, a one-way traffic system has been put in place around the estate to make sure people can access and leave the area easily.

Police officers on road blocks will be able to guide members of the public to car parks, where from there they can walk on the estate and towards the Norwich Gates where floral tributes are being laid.

Please note that the Living Heritage Game and Country Fair planned for this weekend will not be taking place. All facilities at Sandringham remain closed until further notice. Visitors with admissions tickets or tickets to the Living Heritage event will be contacted in due course.

For the latest information and announcements from Buckingham Palace, and to send an online message of condolence, visit the Royal Family website at http://www.royal.uk.

Solar together comes to South Norfolk

South Norfolk District Council has joined Solar Together Norfolk, a group buying scheme for residents and small businesses interested in having solar PV or battery storage systems installed, helping you through the process and keeping you informed at every stage.  To participate, you must be the owner of the roof on which you want to install a solar PV system or have the explicit approval of the owner.

Register for free and without obligation before 27 September.

What does Solar Together Norfolk do?

If you have ever been interested in installing solar panels but unsure where to start, Solar Together Norfolk aims to take the complexity and uncertainty out of shopping for solar panels.

How does it work?

Stage 1. Registration: you can register for free and without obligation before 27 September. You will need to provide details about your roof such as its size and orientation. The more people that register, the better the deal should be for each household.

Stage 2. Auction: an auction will be held on 27 September where approved solar suppliers submit their lowest bids. The most competitive offer wins the auction.

Stage 3. Personalised offer: from 17 October you will be emailed a personal recommendation for you home, based on the details you provided during registration. This includes the costs and specification for a complete solar panel installation.

Stage 4. You decide: the decision is yours as to whether you want to accept your recommendation. There is no obligation to continue. You will have until 28 November to decide and will be invited to an online information session prior to this end date.

Stage 5. Installation: if you accept, the winning installer will contact you to survey your roof and set an installation date. All installations are planned to be completed six months after accepting.

For everyone, adults and children, before the Harvest Festival, October 9th:

Write a sentence or a story about something that gave you joy, a smile at a point through this summer into autumn. It could be the feeling of rain, a job done, an encounter, something shared or seen. Or maybe you could make a picture or have a photograph likewise.

Perhaps you could knit, crochet, draw make a sunflower – lots of sunflowers!

There are boards and drawing pins in the church bell tower waiting for you, we can bring them out to celebrate, maybe we can cover the altar with sunflowers.

If you would like anything returned please put contact details on the back. For further information please contact Pippa Thurlow via CONTACT US or 538245
