First of all, a big thank you to everyone who has been part of the Rockland Benefice and Barn Holy Week, at services, events and online. Thank you to everyone who supported the Lent Lunches in the Barn, which raised £335 (including Gift Aid) for the Sag Sag Health Centre in Papua New Guinea.

Our Easter worship begins with the Lighting of the New Fire in Rockland Church at 7.30pm this evening. This will also be an opportunity to renew our baptism vows.

Tomorrow morning begins early with the

• 6am Sunrise Service on Rockland Staithe, followed by
• 9.30am Communion at SURLINGHAM,
• 9.30am Morning Prayer at Carleton St. Peter,
• 9.30am Communion at Claxton,
• 11am Communion at Bramerton and
• 11am Communion at Kirby Bedon.

On Wednesday 20th, Art Cafe meets in the Barn between 10.30am and 12 Noon for friendly chat, homemade refreshments and eggs!

The Benefice will gather the following Sunday 24th at 10am for Communion at Surlingham, led by Mandy.

A Jubilee Flower Festival to raise funds for the Church is to be held at St Mary’s Church from Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th June.

We would like to have a plant stall but we need your help in providing any plants you can spare to stock the stall. So please get sowing, planting and dividing, ready for the beginning of June.

With just a few days till the long Easter weekend, we thought to update you on what we are doing:

• – we are serving Afternoon Tea (Easter special) until Monday;
• – we are doing a special Easter Sunday lunch (either to have in or take away – see menu attached);;
• – there will be an array of cakes ready to take away;
• – our Portuguese wine is back from Good Friday to Monday and there is a whole new selection from red, rose, white as well as Port and Moscat;
• – opening times are as usual throughout the Easter weekend including bank holiday Monday which means our day off this week will be Tuesday;

On another note we are still receiving donations for Ukraine (either money to buy water and canned food that will go directly to Kiev or goods such as medicine nappies baby wipes or toiletries). To raise money Ana has been crocheting hearts and making some planters with succculents thats are available from tomorrow onwards.

Dear All,

Holy Week begins this weekend with our Palm Sunday (10th) benefice communion service at Rockland church, 10am, followed by refreshments in the Barn. We will share the Passion Gospel and distribute palm crosses during the service.

On Tuesday 12th and Wednesday evenings 13th, Holy Week Night Prayer will be held in the Barn and on Zoom at 8pm, with a short art-based reflection at each service. If you wish to join us on Zoom, please use this link for both days.

On Maundy Thursday (14th) we remember the Last Supper at 10am Communion at Claxton.

Good Friday (15th) we offer something for all ages at our 10am Family Service at Surlingham.

Holy Saturday or Easter Eve (16th) marks the beginning of Easter worship with Lighting of the New Fire in Rockland Church, 7.30pm. This moving candlelit service reminds us of Christ’s light returning to the world at his resurrection.

April 20th sees this month’s Art Cafe in the Barn, from 10.30am until just before Noon come along for good company, fresh coffee and Easter eggs!
