Surlingham Flood Resilience Committee – progress report

The Flood Resilience Committee met this week for the second time. There has been a good level of feedback from villagers on the flooding problems around the village (around 25 responses). This has all been incorporated into a number of documents that have been prepared detailing the issues we face with flooding and water drainage.

From here, the plan is to engage an expert engineer to examine the situation, documents, feedback and report on possible remedial action. A quote is being sought. This report will then be submitted to the local authorities for action.

In the meantime, some local intervention will be possible, with the appropriate permissions, to maintain and improve the existing drainage system around the village.

The matter is on the agenda for the next Parish Council (Tuesday 16th March) where a verbal report will be given and a formal request for funding the engineer’s report will be made.

As you know, Tim will be set up outside the Farm Shop tomorrow 11th March from 10.30am until 4pm, with a selection of delicious seafood.

If you have any questions at all then please pop us an email over to lily@yarevalleyoils.co.uk or feel free to give us a ring on 01508 538206.

Mother’s Day weekend at Teles Patisserie

As we are giving baby steps towards a bit of normality, we are happy to say we are getting ready for next month if, and only if, everything goes to plan.

In the meantime, we are getting ready for Mothering Sunday. We will do our take away meals as always and this weekend we are doing again (due to high demand) our prawn curry. So if you fancy this, tell us as soon as possible.

Afternoon teas can also be preordered and as of from Friday we will have chocolate boxes (produced here), Hungarian biscuit boxes and mix and match cake boxes available to collection without forgetting again a range of Portuguese wine (red, rose, vinho verde and port). All to make this a very very special weekend.

See you all soon

Love

Joaquim & Ana

Coldham Hall Re-opening! (Again… )

Further to the government announcement and the pathway for pubs we would like to confirm that it is our intention to open on April 12th for outside table service only and we really hope that the weather is going to be kind to us until we can open with some sort of normality on May 17th.

We will keep you informed of the finer service details nearer the time and update you with progress as we go along.

Looking forward to a lovely summer !!
