ADVENT GROUP MEETINGS (for the next four Mondays)

Our Advent Group begins on Monday evening 30th November at 7.45pm and continues for the following 3 Mondays (7th, 14th & 21st December) all at 7:45pm. They will be a time of worship, silence and prayer using art, poetry and music to help us enter the new season.

FUTURE SERVICES

This week sees changes to the recent Covid restrictions. Services in Church will be possible from early December onwards, but we are under no obligation to do so. It appears that outdoor carol singing will be permitted for part of this time. Any plans we make will be based on consultation with PCCs and dependent on factors such as further official guidance, increased risk due to household mixing between Dec 22nd and 27th, and changes in local infection rates.
You are very welcome to contact me with your views on how we move forward over the next few weeks.

And what a cracking day it is.

Well, whether you like it or not, whether a scrooge or a… a… I cant think of a famous Character who loves Christmas. I dunno… Mickey mouse must have done… maybe.

Anyways, I digress. I am sure you like food, and we have lots and lots in, we are even doing single spuds (they just dont believe in marriage) out of one of the 12.5kg spuds as some have said they would just like a few and as they are not entering the world’s strongest person comp this year and dont wish to carry a huge sack back home on their push bike. Loooooosers!

We have advent calendars, oodles of choccy, hot choc shots, gift ideas, crumpets in the freezer and bread, mince pies, mince meat for making your own, brandy butter, stock, pizzas, fresh and frozen chicken, gammon (have a rummage in the back freezer, I picked up some incredible meats from Maisebrooke farm shop last night)

We will also have x-mas trees in this weekend. More of the cute 5fters as these are really a fab all rounder and good looker (which was weirdly my nickname in high school).

Enough of the lies.

Our Food bank Box (Blue plastic box) will be in to the right beside the icecream freezer under the choccy table, so please do donate anything if you wish/can and once full we will make sure we get it to the foodbank. Someone mentioned about having a box instead where people could donate and then anyone who is in need could just take it, which means we are even more directly helping the community. However, if you think it an idea or have any others please don email me at info@yarevalleyoils.co.uk. It is just a question of space in our little shop, but always here to listen to any funky ideas.

And the most special time of the year is here! Obviously this year more special and unique than before so as usual we are thinking of ways to help everyone with those special gifts, treats and mimentshttp://Moments.

So following the latest government guidelines, we are reopening our seating area on Thursday the 3rd of December for breakfast, brunch, lunch and our amazingly hot drinks. Should you wish to have lunch please advise us first and pre book it.

Thinking more Christmas, this coming week we will have our hampers available for collection and if you wish we can post them nationwide too or drop it at your loved ones doorstep – Just let us know in advance. Christmas cakes orders are open so don’t live it for too late! There is only one Joaquim in the kitchen! Throughout Decembers, and due to high demand, we will have Portuguese wines and liquors in the shop to be bought a small part of hampers or gifts.

And last but not least! First weekend of December until the end of the year we will serve our artisan mulled wine too!

Opening times for the Christmas period is as usual: we will only close on Christmas Day. And back on Boxing Day so you can treat yourself to a nice coffee before, during or after your walk.

But as we all know, this might change if the government changes the guidelines too.

STAY SAFE & HAVE A CRACKING WEEKEND!

We are delighted that we will be reopening at 9am on Wednesday 2nd December, serving our hearty Full English Breakfast, followed by our usual daily menu.

As we are in a Tier 2 region we will be operating a table service, with alcohol served only to accompany a substantial meal. We can also accommodate takeaway requests.

We are so looking forward to welcoming you back!

This is the time in the Christian year when we remember those we have loved and lost. We had hoped to plan a service to remember our loved ones and light candles, however this year that will not be possible.

Instead we would like to invite you to send us the names of those you remember; we will write them on a star, place them on a Christmas Tree and light an individual candle for each person we remember.

Nick and I will film the lighting of the candles and tree in a short service which can be viewed on Sunday 6th December.
