It’s good that so many families are again using the play park especially the new swings. A picnic bench has been purchased and will be installed as soon as the weather permits.
Sadly there is the need to remind owners that dogs are not allowed in the play park.
On this recent occasion, having taken a dog into a children’s play area it is beyond belief that the owner did not see fit to clear up after their pet.
Please spare a thought for other familes who use the park and not least the person who has to clean the mower.
The village relies on volunteers to mow the park and footpaths. The prevalence of dog poo was the very reason volunteers in the past gave up. They were no longer prepared to have to clean this filth off their clothing and the machines.
Thank you
We have just updated the links on the ‘Outdoors’ page of Surlingham.org so the web site now includes walk maps, and up to date links to the Wheatfen site and the N1 cycle route. Click here to take a look.
Please help us keep Surlingham.org current and tell us via CONTACT US of any links that no longer work or out of date information.

Information received from Mike Balmer in Claxton
I’m very sorry to say that because of the coronavirus we won’t be hosting the usual Halloween display at Padmaloka this year.
You can rest assure though that the monsters are being well fed and cared for and will be ready for action next year if things return to normality by then.
Wishing you all the best,
Satyakirti
Padmaloka Manager

Clearly this fool has never seen a proper Jack-o’-lantern before… or for that matter a hair comb.
If you think you can do better… (and we assure you that you can) we have lots of Orange and Ghost Pumpkins to play with, and don’t forget our post ‘Pumpkins and More’ from last week with a Pumpkin Muffin recipe.
In for the weekend we have lots of veg including cabbages, pumpkins, butternut squash, tomatoes (a fruit technically we know), potatoes, onions, leeks, sprouting broccoli, french beans, kale, spinach, cauliflower and more
Pizzas from Brick pizza galore, freshly frozen bread from Hempnall Bakery (a must try) and Crumpets from Wreningham, Norfolk. Bit pricier than the supermarket usual. But honestly, you have to try them. Incredible.
We also have a local Kombucha coming in next week. It is ‘a fermented, lightly effervescent, sweetened black or green tea drink commonly consumed for its supposed health benefits.’ And is delicious…
Lots of meats and beef that is reared here on the farm in the freezers for those roasts and more.
Yes, Christmas is coming and we are thinking about hamper ideas and to make it simple for you to order from a couple of delectable choices so do let us know if you have any ideas and if as ever you have any requests for items to see/ changes in the shop then please do let us know by emailing info@yarevalleyoils.co.uk
Whatever you do, where ever you are. We hope all is well and send our big waves and smiles. Pop in to see us anytime from 8am until 9pm every single day including bank holidays and aaaaaaallllll weekend.
