Allotments available

Posted on behalf of the Trustees of Surlingham Church and Poor Charity.

Spring is just around the corner, with that thought in mind we have 2 allotments available to rent. If a whole plot is too much for you we can divide it to a size that you would find manageable. There is a quarter plot available if you want to start small. Interested?

email:surlinghamchurchandpoor@outlook.com for more information.

A message from Water’s Edge – new management and introductory offer!

As of October last year (2023) we have come under the ownership of Jill and Colin Tickle and, though our dedication to high-quality food and drink remain unchanged, we are very excited to get to know and connect with our wonderful local community. With that in mind, we would like to offer an introductory discount for the area; simply quote “Friends of Surlingham” to your server and enjoy a 10% discount on your bill!

If you wish to know more about the dishes we have on offer, or upcoming events we will be hosting, you can check our most recent menu by clicking here or give us a call on 01508538005 to book a table! You can also find the most recent pictures of our newest dishes, drinks and events on our social media pages: Water’s Edge Woods End on Facebook or Waters Edge Bramerton on Instagram. Our team is looking forward to seeing you.

Goings on

Haaaaaapppppy Neeeeew Year, and all that jazz. Not sure when it is too late to say it, nor if it is punishable by fine for overdoing it, but I just did it.

Just to say Alec is back with the Fish Van tomorrow 11th Jan 2024. Phew. I wrote 2024 instead of 2023. Let’s hope 2023 is a good year.

The shop is filled to the brim. The last batch of Belted Galloway Rare breed sold so well before Christmas that we are hoping in the next few weeks to get some more fresh beef in so watch this space if interested.

The typical leftovers from Christmas and last year are in our reduced basket if you fancy a bargain. There are a couple of packs of reduced Walkers Minced pies left. I know they are a major brand, but I have to say I am not usually a mince pie fan and these are lovely. Just be weary of the fun police fines for eating a mince pie past 12th night.

Weather has been a bit pants lately. So nice to see the sun out today. Which is why I am going to try to get off early before the dreaded night kicks in and frolic (had to look up the spelling as have never written that word before) through some local fields.

Wish me luck

Whatever you do, wherever you are and whomever you be… have an awesome week
