Monday 27th April 2020 Between 9:00 and 12:00
There will be signs at either end of the path to indicate cutting is in progress
The closure will ensure the footpath and Play park can be maintained safely and social distancing regulations met
Please respect this request and avoid using the path between these times.

Don’t want to seem like we are posting too much on here and too often, so won’t post again until next week. Just wanted to make sure you knew what we have in to make your trip worthwhile.
Was just to say we have been stocking up in the shop this morning and the whole shop is topped up and ready. Quite literally brimming with stock:
Lots of flour, veg (potatoes, avocados, aubergines, bananas, lemons, oranges, sprouting brocoocli, cabbage, mushrooms, rhubarb, apples, leeks, butternut squash, tomatoes and more) cheese, milk (More coming in around 2pm today) looooooots of our fresh farm reared beef in many many cuts including mince, steak, joints, burgers etc, icecream and ice lollies, eggs (more coming later today, but plenty still in) soap, toothpaste, shampoo bars, crisps, bacon, fish (everyone saying how good the lobster Thermidor is and how super dooooper the Coquilles St Jacques are) salmon, white fish, scampi, prawns, chicken, goujons, chicken nuggets, sausages.
Open 8am-9pm every single day
Then Teles Patisserie is open as normal for your bread, cakes and pastries etc. 10am-4pm except Mondays when they are closed.
We are delivering within 5mile radius to those self isolating with min order £20 so if you would like an order do call on 01508 538206
Once again, and we can not say it enough, thank you for being amazing and for supporting our little, yet mighty shop. It means a lot to us and we hope we are doing you the service you deserve as such a lovely bunch.

More cheese coming in around
The Parish Council would like to show its appreciation and thanks on behalf of the residents of Surlingham who have and continue to receive support from Surlingham’s Volunteers.
Sarah Broom with Clive Evans as her ‘wing man’ have organised a band of approximately 40 volunteers supporting those either in isolation or for whatever reason are no longer able to get to the shops or the surgery.
You will all be aware of the leaflets that have been delivered to every household advising that a volunteer is a telephone call away for shopping, collecting medication etc or just to talk.
It was clear from listening to Sarah that there is a great need for the volunteers to take the time to have a word with people who no longer have the opportunity for face to face conversation.
So, it is a big thank you Sarah, Clive, and all of the volunteers you are our Local Heros
Something we should all consider is to know your neighbours. That wave as you pass by or a quick chat about the weather or the garden, over the fence or garden gate can make the world of difference to someone who may not have the opportunity to communicate with anyone from one day to the next.

With Local Heros in mind – thank you to all the businesses in the village who have revised the way we can access their services to keep us safe as well as providing home delivery.
The beef has just arrived. We have lots and lots of joints, steaks, mince (much of the mince will go straight to freezer) cuts etc. We also have lots of fruit and veg to go with it. As well as some lovely lobster in the freezer today and smoked salmon etc.
We just need to sort it all out and we are awaiting the arrival of a new fridge today to display it in for you. And as that infamous law goes, I am sure there will be niggles so we just ask if you wait until around 6pm onward tonight before coming to get so we can get it all as ready as possible for you.
This will be the most stocked across a wide range of provisions we have ever been, and whilst the demmand is there, we will continue to keep you topped up with these essentials.
We are open until 9pm every day and from 8am every day.
Tomorrow is more fish and kitchen cupboard essentials.
Friday will be more eggs and more fruit and veg and more milk. You may have noticed that the eggs are currently in plastic trays. This should only be temporary. They are still from Wayland Eggs which is the same supplier as usual and still the same cost, but they have said they are all they can get a the moment with demand being so high, but assures us they are fully recyclable.
Should be lots more flour in from Thurs eve too.

Once again we’d like to thank everyone that has been with us in the past weeks since our new reality began. Thank you for your kindness, words of appreciation and support. This is what makes us go on and to do more and better.
A lot have been asking about deliveries. So the answer is yes we are still doing free deliveries within 5 miles radius as well as helping others with their shopping or daily tasks that due to several reasons people can’t do. So if you need us, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Also we are delivering not only cakes, but bread, light meals and birthday cakes – it’s not because we are in lockdown that we can’t have a birthday cake 🍰:-)
As many of you know, we are trying to help the NHS as much as possible. So after delivering a lovely hamper to Heathgate Surgery, we are raising goodies to take to the Gunthorpe Ward at Norwich and Norfolk Hospital. And why? Because this ward takes care of patients with pulmonary and respiratory problems – specially those tested positive of Covid-19 and are going above and beyond trying to save lives. So we believe all our efforts should be with this ward now. If you have something you really don’t need, please drop it at the patisserie (if it’s on your daily walk path) or let us know and we will collect it. Every little helps, right?

Fruit and veg for obvious reason going out very quickly so do come get topped up for the week.
