With this glorious weather we are enjoying, activity at the Staithe has increased. Please be aware The Broads Authority has issued the following statement

Now is not the time to visit the Broads. Please do not travel here for leisure or exercise.

The only people that should be on the Broads waterways are those that live aboard their boats and essential services supporting the COVID-19 response such as the Coastguard, Broads-Beat Officers, Broads Authority Rangers and operations staff conducting essential maintenance.

Think before you access the waterways – would you put lives at risk and extra strain on our emergency services if you get in difficulty?

Stay at Home – Save lives.

This is also supported by British Canoeing who strongly recommends that all paddlesport activity should cease on rivers, waterways and coastal areas until further notice.

Church Services and meetings have become virtual experiences. All of us have had to adapt our lifestyles to avoid coming into contact with others. … but the Good News is that we are here! We’re really keen to get to know you and reduce your sense and ours of being isolated. So, we’ve set up a Zoom account and invite you to join us on Sundays at 5pm commencing on May 3rd. We will host a “Let us Pray” meeting for 30 minutes. This will be a time to join in prayer for each other and our concerns for the world.

In addition to this, we’d like to invite YOU to join US for a coffee at other times in our Zoom Room. We can chat informally or listen, alone or with others, about anything- your hopes and dreams, your fears and worries, your greenhouse, grandchildren or even God…

Surlingham.org will host a light-hearted quiz  on zoom on Thursday 7th May.  To participate please express your interest using Contact Us (top right of S.org menu) and we’ll email you a zoom** link a couple of days before.  Everyone is welcome.  The format will be similar to the Ferry House pub quizzes.

Rough timings – to be confirmed. Assemble on zoom at 6.50pm ready for a 7pm sharp start, have an 15 minute interval just before 8 to ‘Clap For Our Carers’ and then resume the quiz for another half hour or so, so not too late.
