Kickstart – Moped Hire Scheme

If you are aged 16 or over this might be something that interests you. Kickstart Norfolk can now provide individuals with the opportunity to be issued with their own moped for a period of up to 6-months, and this will allow them to seek and secure the provisions they need to move forward towards employment.  It may be the case that an individual requires specialist support and therefore, the transport can be used to attend appointments or to socialise.

Whilst on the Rural Scheme, a dedicated Communication Officer will mentor each individual for up to a period of 2-years, this will provide much needed support to the service user whilst they participate on education or training courses, engage with support provisions or secure employment.

Coldham’s water!

The end is insight for our water troubles! Wednesday could mark the day we are back up and running! So although we will be closed from tomorrow till Wednesday there is high chance we will be back to normal!

A massive thank you to everyone who has been around to help us through this time, from people helping with washing up to the odd laundry run round the village!

Fire. Done

Water. Done

Whats next, Earth or Wind?

Surlingham water issues – update

Dan Ladderman, an Anglia Water manager has explained that the problem is related to a main in Sallow Lane, close to the junction with Kirby Bedon Road.  Thursday night a team worked to repair a burst but because of the way the pipes were fitted (badly? inadequately?), it took them until Friday to complete.  Previously the pipes had been repaired and he accepted it was frustrating that problems had arisen again.
Mr Ladderman said the fault was separate to the roadworks on Kirby Bedon Road, close to Sallow Lane.  The works which finished two weeks ago were to make test holes to explore and identify the cause of the continual problems along that stretch of main. He said the continual problems were such that they hoped to relay the whole stretch of pipe but it was a matter of competing priorities and cost.
(According to Apple Maps the Manor the closure of Bramerton Lane will last until 20th February-Ed).
