According to roadworks.org, Kirby Road will be closed until Sunday 28th January 2018. This information was available at 09:48 and promulgated on the site at 15:12 on the 25th January. These works are to repair a burst water main and are managed by Anglian Water. Click here for more information.
The public consultation on the emerging (Regulation 18) Greater Norwich Local Plan (GNLP) started on 8th January and runs until 15th March 2018.
The consultation includes a Growth Options document, setting out the broad housing numbers required to 2036, six main distribution options, and a significant number of questions on various policy areas (such as air quality, landscape and affordable housing).
It is very important to note that this is a consultation stage – no final decisions have been made on any policy choice or site.

South Norfolk Council is carrying out its annual consultation on setting its budget for 2018/19 and would welcome responses from residents and local businesses. Our water supply still isn’t up and running but we can’t let the pub get lonely! We have worked out a temporary solution to see us through. Hopefully it will all be sorted soon!
Dear all,
just to let you know one of our neighbours, Chris, came round this morning to inform us about a dangerous branch that has split in the high winds. It is overhanging the road and verge on The Green near the rear of the Padmaloka grounds.
We have reported it to UK Power Networks (as there is a power line beneath it) and to the Highways department at Norfolk County Council. UK Power Networks are sending out a ‘first responder’ to assess it, from there they’ll send a team out to remove the branch. Until it’s removed, take care when walking or driving down this part of the Green, especially whilst it’s windy.

Appointment of Trustees to Surlingham Church & Poor Charity and The Surlingham Charities
The Parish Council is responsible for appointing four parishioners to act as trustees of the two village charities and is inviting applications from parishioners aged 18 or over to fill those positions.
The charities generate a small amount of income annually. Click here for More Information
Trustees are appointed for a term of three years. After three years Trustees can apply to be reappointed. Currently, the trustees meet once annually.
