New Monthly Meditation Classes

Poster Lotus Small

Whenever we host the Surlingham Village Festival here at Padmaloka we also host meditation taster sessions. In recent times several villagers, having participated in these sessions, have asked us if we would hold regular meditation classes in our shrine room that are open to the village. Although we have a very full retreat programme here each year, we are keen to respond to these requests and have identified that we can host a public meditation class here each month.

The first of these classes will be on Wednesday the 13th of September, 19:30 to 21:30.

These classes are open to everyone and will be accessible to those new to meditation. So do come along whether you have been meditating for years, or you are simply curious about Padmaloka and what we do here. Under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent or designated guardian.

The cost of the class is £5 and we will be donating the proceeds to the Ted Ellis Trust. All meditation equipment will be provided, as will drinks and refreshments.

Dates for the rest of 2017:
Wednesday the 4th of October
Wednesday the 1st of November
Wednesday the 13th of December

If you are interested in exploring Buddhism or meditation further, we recommend the Norwich Buddhist Centre: http://www.norwichbuddhistcentre.com/.

We look forward to seeing you here at Padmaloka, if you have any questions, you can phone us 01508 538112 or email us info@padmaloka.org.uk. You can also find out more about Padmaloka on our website: http://www.padmaloka.org.uk

South Norfolk on Show 2018 – yes 2018 that’s no typo

Laura Woollacott, Events Co-ordinator, South Norfolk District Council writes…..

Dear all

I am delighted to announce the date of our 2018 South Norfolk on Show event as Sunday 1st July.

This successful event, now in its eighth year attracts audiences of up to 6000. We are very proud of this unique  show that takes place on our South Norfolk Council site in Long Stratton. The event offers an opportunity to a wide range of local business and voluntary organisations to promote their services and engage with the public.

Each year we aim to attract new visitors from across the district ensuring that we can use this opportunity to highlight key council services to residents and provide a great free day out for all the family. I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your support , please save the date, and next year join us in helping to promote the event across your neighbourhood.

We have some great photos which will provide a flavour of what you can expect next year on our website

I would love to hear from you if you have  any suggestions of  local performers who may be suitable to perform on our bandstand on the day, or any local groups that would like to host a stand.

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you with any ideas you may like to share with me to enhance the day.

Kind regards
