A British farce – this Thur/Fri Sat

The Bramrocks’ latest play is a British farce set in a vicarage in the 1960s.  According to the publisher’s reviews there is ‘never a dull moment’, it is ‘fast  paced and entertaining, and laugh out loud funny’.  Some sneak previews of the current production indicate that this is likely to be recreated here, on our doorsteps in the Margaret Mack room at Rockland St Mary this coming Thursday,  Friday and Saturday  (11th, 12th and 13th May 2017) at 7.30pm.  Tickets £6 from Rockland shop.  Bar available, and ice creams in the interval.

Hello Australia and where else?

Most visitors to Surlingham.org come from the UK, but we do get a trickle from overseas. Sometime this is local people keeping in touch whilst on holiday, and we know we have interest from Australia because Susannah Holmes, one of the first Australians, was born here. However, if you are reading this from overseas we would be very interested to hear from you about your connection with Surlingham – do please use CONTACT US to tell us who you are.

Now we are FIVE..

Surlingham.org celebrates its fifth birthday this month.

The 1115 news posts since inception have publicised the usual range of local activities: from pilates, to pantos, quizzes to regattas, but have also included tracing ancestors and peahens (yes), a 100th birthday party, flood warnings, reporting water outages and road diversions. Surlingham.org is a community web site in that these posts are placed by about 15 representatives of local groups and organisations, rather than a single administrator. Whilst 186 people with an interest in Surlingham are currently signed up to receive these posts directly by email, the site is also visited by well over a thousand unique IP addresses each month (that’ s a phone, tablet or computer). To sign up just click the + Follow in the very bottom right of the window.

If you want to publicise an event, or require a post placed do use CONTACT US to get in touch. A village calendar endeavours to keep track of all events which are going to take place.
