The surgery at Poringland will be open between 8am and 6pm on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Our dispensary will be open for the collection of pre-ordered medication.

The scheme coordinates 25+ volunteers and will arrange for the delivery of food and medicine to local residents who have no other means of support.

The scheme can be contacted by using one of the phone numbers listed in the accompanying leaflet below. The leaflet will be delivered to every household in the Parish over the next couple of days.

The scheme is supported by the local Church and the Parish Council.

Send your pictures of your Easter bonnets to contact-us by 6pm on Sunday 12th April. All entries will be posted on the website.

There are 2 categories: CHILDREN ONLY and FAMILIES

The winners will each win a large yummy Easter Egg.

To encourage children to go out walking with their parents please can you

put a teddy bear in a window that can be seen from the road… 

It’s an easy thing to do and a bit of fun. If you don’t have a bear then another soft toy – or draw a picture!

Lots of us are taking the opportunity of self isolation and the fine weather to attend to all those odd jobs like clearing out cupboards and garages as well as getting the garden tidy.

As you are aware due to the coronavirus restrictions recycling centres are closed putting more pressure on the collection lorries.

Refuse collectors are key workers, suffering staff shortages and still doing a fantastic job for us.

Show your support for them by staggering your rubbish over several collections.

We do not want the collection centres to become overwhelmed

First of all we’d like to thank everyone for the support, kind words and encouragement given since this very challenging moment we are living started. Without you… it wouldn’t be possible to do what we are doing.

Easter is round the corner and we want to be sure you have your essentials and treats. So from this Tuesday onwards we will have hot cross buns and Easter cakes as well as the usual baked goods. Orders, collections and deliveries are still ongoing and they will stay the same as long as we can.
Also we will be opened on Good Friday, the whole weekend and Easter Monday.

Rest assured we are doing everything possible or you to be safe and enjoy at home this Easter.Make it special as you all have with you a very precious thing that we don’t: family. So preserve that.

Palm Sunday (April 5th)

There will be a service posted on YouTube and accompanying order of service circulated on e-mail. The blessed palms will be put into our Easter mailing, which will contain

• a palm cross
• Easter card
• Consecrated communion wafer OPTIONAL 
• Easter order of service-Easter all
• age colouring sheet (this could be put up in your window in celebration of Easter)

If you or anyone you know would like to receive this mailing, please send us a full postal address, stating whether or not you wish to take communion at home and if so, whether you would like 1 or 2 wafers.

Tuesday in Holy Week (7th) 

10am Celtic Prayer by video link If you wish to ‘attend’, please contact Clive Evans 01508 538234 before the day.

Good Friday (10th)

2 Videos: There will be an activity involving biscuits for all ages, and a filmed reading of the Passion Gospel with images and music.

Easter Day (12th)

Holy Communion including images from Lighting of the New Fire (Easter Eve). This will be an opportunity to share Communion and fellowship spiritually.
