Hello everyone!
We would like to thank everyone that came today to our Dog Photo Shoot! We had an amazing day! Stay tuned for pictures and Facebook competition!
In the mean time we are putting our feet up for a week before the most beautiful time of the year approaches.
So we will be closed from the 1st of October to the 8th of October and normal opening hours come back on the 9th!

Further to the Parish Council’s previous post explaining that the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents had found some of the equipment on the play park dangerous and advised the Parish Council to take steps to prevent the items from being used pending repair/replacement. To this end the junior swings will soon be removed.
On Friday 20 September 2019 hazard tape was used to prevent use, the post was placed on Surlingham.org and the school sent a letter home with the children explaining the situation.
When the Play Park was visited today all the tape had been removed putting children in danger
The following photographs were taken last week to confirm the Parish Council had taken steps to bring the danger to the attention of users of the play park. Please ensure your children do not use any of this apparatus.

Wheatfen Forest School is running a monthly wildlife and conservation group for primary school children (Y3-6), beginning at Wheatfen this coming Saturday 10.15-12.15, and we have some spaces available.
The group goes out and about – adventuring through the forests, marshes and meadows of the South Yare Valley landscape (in a 5 mile radius of Surlingham) – to help conserve the wildlife and meet local experts with the knowledge and passion to foster the children’s interests.
While on our adventures, the children learn some techniques for exploring different habitats; collecting, observing, and identifying plants and animals; as well as using tools to carry our conservation work.
Young Explorers is supported by South Yare Wildlife Group

This is a long term group which is booked termly. It costs £10 per child per session. If you would like to enroll your child or send them for a taster session, please contact us.

This Sunday our annual Dog Photo Shoot is back! And this year is even better with great stall holders that are all things dogs and a better hamper than last year!
You just have to come round between 11.00 and 4.00 and let us take a photo of your doggie! And just like that you can win a Xmas hamper worth £75!
