The hours are 5 hours per week, which are flexible.

Caretaker assistant job description

Volunteers are needed for the 2017 Surlingham Village Litter Pick.  Come to the Ferry House on the 1st April 2017 between 10:00 and 12:00 to take part in this years litter pick.Information received from Janet Rogers, Parish Clerk

Please join us at the Pop-Up Cafe from 2-5pm this Saturday in the Village Hall.  We will be serving teas, coffees, soft drinks and a range of cakes and biscuits. Mothers Day / Spring / Easter themed crafts will be available to entertain children for a very small charge to cover costs.  All money raised will go directly towards supporting improvements to the School outdoor area which a small army of volunteers have been very busy putting into place in recent weeks!  Thanks to all members of the community who have helped with that – it is hugely appreciated.

The Festival Committee are delighted to announce that the profits from 2016 fundraising will go to help the following local projects and groups:

• £750 towards the cost of the lovely new nursery swing at the village playground
• £750 to the appeal to equip the church with a new PA sound system
• £146 to Surlingham Tornadoes for goal posts (apparently they might be lent to Carrow Road!)

and nearly £200 paid to local groups who helped at the Festival in September, ran stalls, kept us fed, and sold their artisan products. The Committee are very pleased to support such a wide range of activities bringing benefits to so many across the community.

Thank you all for your support in 2016. We will be sharing our plans for 2017 soon – so watch this space!

The Ferry was full last night for a convivial evening of quizzing.  People came from Claxton, Rockland and other neighbouring villages as well as Surlingham and a good time seemed to be had by all. The quiz raise £223 towards vital maintenance at Surlingham Church. Thank you to all who supported the event.  Thanks to Pat Scowen for organising, all the quiz masters, Pat Swinbourne for organising the raffle, and to the Ferry for hosting.
