just received a telephone report as follows – thank you:

up beyond/by the vineyard on the left there are bad drifts, the caller had just dug somebody out.  It is single lane passable but do so only if essential and with care.

In the light of current situation we thought we would gather as much information as possible.  So if you are reading this and have any further knowledge of the state of the local roads  this morning could you please either use CONTACT US or text 07748186511 to tell us. In particular

1. Bramerton to Surlingham – where is blockage?
2. A146 to Bramerton – where is blockage?
3. Bramerton to Rockland -where is blockage?
4. Status of Surlingham to Rockland via Mill lane also useful for shop/doctors.

We have just received the following information from a resident – thank you:

Hi, please could you put something on the website about getting out of Surlingham, I.e it’s not possible? Mill Lane blocked with snowdrift so no access to Rockland. Surlingham to Bramerton road blocked with snowdrifts and abandoned cars. Kirby Bedon ditto. Bramerton to Rockland also blocked. Please could you make people aware because there is no info anywhere on this.

Deep snow and single track only on parts of Bramerton Road as you enter village down the hill. Cross Lane deep snowdrifts, Big Thanks to Will for rescuing us.

The  road from Mill Road to RSM is impassable due to drifts.

From Walnut Hill resident.

Walnut hill is passable : there has been only a handful of vehicles passing. However, police advice remains do not travel unless you absolutely have to. In my view that means emergency trip to hospitals only!

People who live near the church are reporting the following:

‘Roads around Surlingham and Rockland pretty much blocked with drifts. Four wheel drive cars mayyyyy make it but not guaranteed. XXX has just poppped in to update us. He can get ANYWHERE and he’s not keen! ‘
