SNDC Celebrate Creativity and Wellbeing week 17-23 May 2021 at our FREE workshops

Whether you are looking to get your creative juices flowing or to find a new way into mindfulness, we might just have the answer for you! To celebrate creativity and wellbeing week we are offering two great online courses which will aim to broaden your horizons.

These courses are offered free to all adults who live or work in the Broadland and South Norfolk areas. No previous skills or experience are required, just an open mind and a willingness to learn.

As the courses are run online participants will need a reliable internet connection, the use of a laptop, computer tablet or phone to access the virtual workshop, and pen and paper.

Full details of the two courses can be found below. To book a place on either of these fantastic courses visit: https://www.south-norfolk.gov.uk/residents/communities/creativity-and-wellbeing-workshops

Creative Letter Writing ‘Yours sincerely’

Discover the simple joy of writing a letter, and the mindful benefits of putting pen to paper.

Staff from the Norfolk Record office will introduce you to some historical voices from their archives of letters, followed by a creative writing session led by an experienced and supportive local writer

Wednesday 19 May, 10am to 12 noon

Mindful Collaging

Explore your creative side by discovering new ideas to create your own work of art. Using walking as inspiration, the workshop will focus on how we can use sensory experiences to create unique art works with collage. The session invites you to meet likeminded people and enjoy learning new techniques using found and recycled materials.

Before the event all registered attendees will be sent an introduction to mindful walking and a list of equipment needed in advance; these will be things you have around the home.

Thursday 20 May, 10am to 11am

The Ferry House

Our kitchen is still open everyday between 11am and 6pm for takeaways or outside dining.

From 17th May it looks on track that we can welcome you inside again so give us a call on 01508 538659 to reserve a table.

Just to let you know, it’s now 2 years since we had our defibrillator installed and time for the pads to be replaced. New ones have been ordered so it’ll be good to go for another 2 years. We’re very pleased we’ve not had to use it, but are immensely relieved to have it to hand.

Best wishes

Sonia and the team at The Ferry House

This week at Teles Patisserie

Boooom! And that’s another week done and dusted! And what a cracking week it was! Great atmosphere here at the patisserie as usual! It’s great to see everyone enjoying themselves with us or collecting yumminess to treat themselves at home… thank you!

And thank you to everyone that specially today had patience with Ana as she has had side effects after having her Covid vaccine. On this note, we’d like to let everyone know that we will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday so that she can recover. See you Thursday which is fish van day at Yare Valley Farm Shop.

And in the meantime, we will share the weekend take away menu too along with other options that we are studying either to have in or to enjoy at the comfort of your home.
